3rd & 4th Grade Monday Memo #14: December 10, 2018

This week in the Third and Fourth Grades, students will start the week by taking the STAR360. This is a district assessment that we give 3 times a year to check-in in student’s learning in reading and math.  Students will also begin a new science unit that focuses on energy, motion and electricity. At the end of the week, students will participate in the annual Gifts for Giving. If you would like to help out, please email us and we will pass your contact information onto Ms. Morse our art teacher. Finally, continue to help us keep students healthy for the next few weeks by reminding them to wash their hands and to get lots of sleep. Things always run much smoother and the classroom is much more fun when everyone is present.

3rd & 4th Grade Monday Memo #13: December 3, 2018

It was great to see so many Third and Fourth Grade families at the Spaghetti Dinner last Friday.  It was also fun to see our students win a few sought after raffle items. This week in the Third and Fourth Grades will be business as usual. As students begin making a final academic push before heading out on their holiday break, please help us keep students healthy for the next few weeks by reminding them to wash their hands and get lots of sleep. Things always run much smoother when the whole class is present. This is especially important next week as we will begin our second science unit of the year. If a child misses a day of school, they will be missing an entire day of science learning.

3rd & 4th Grade Monday Memo #12: November 26, 2018

We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break, and you were able to spend some great quality time relaxing and hanging out with your family and friends.  As we close out the month of November, the 3rd and 4th graders will experience a few changes in their weekly schedule. Instead of having music on Monday and Tuesday, music will bookend the week. Students will now have music on Monday and Friday. This means that Word Study and WIN will also be shifting. More information on our new and fabulous music teacher will be coming home at the end of the week in the CES newsletter.
